Ever found yourself frustrated as your opponent grabbed you and left you helpless in Tekken 8 matches? Learning how to stop grabs is vital for maintaining control and turning the tables on your adversary in Tekken 8. But what’s the way to stop grabs in Tekken 8?

In this guide, I’ll be discussing that in detail, so let’s get started!

How To Stop Grabs In Tekken 8?

Stopping grabs in Tekken 8 is important for maintaining control in your matches. Let’s walk through the step-by-step process of effectively countering grabs:

In Tekken 8, there are two main types of grabs: “Normal Throws” and “Command Throws”.

Normal grabs can be broken simply by pressing any punch button as soon as you see the grab animation. However, command grabs require a bit more attention.

When facing a Command Grab, pay close attention to your opponent’s hands.

  • If their left hand extends forward during the grab animation, you need to press the 1 button to break it.

  • Contrarily, if their right hand extends forward, press the 2 button. If both hands extend forward, you’ll need to press both the 1 and 2 buttons simultaneously.

Certain characters, like King, have grab mix-ups that can catch you off guard.

For example, King’s Giant Swing can be broken with the 1 button, but it uses both hands to grab.

I hope my guide helped you unravel the mystery of stopping grabs in Tekken 8. Remember, grabs are broken based on which hand extends forward during the animation, not by your grab input. If you still have any queries, you can reach me in the comments below.
