Getting Started: Auni’s Quest

Your journey begins with the Bug Catching 101 quest, graciously presented by Auni. Not only does this serve as a tutorial, but Auni also equips you with a Makeshift Belt and a Standard Smoke Bomb. Think of these as your beginner’s kit. And as with any skill, practice and persistence will allow you to level up, enhancing both your belt and bomb, thus increasing your odds of catching those elusive rare bugs.

Steps to Catch Bugs in Palia

1. Equip the Tool: Equip the Standard Smoke Bomb by pressing the R button on the keyboard.
2. Approach with Caution: Locate an insect and approach it slowly.
3. Take Aim: When you’re close enough to attack, use RMB to aim.
4. Throw the Smoke Bomb: Use LMB to release the Smoke Bomb.
5. Stun Successfully: If your aim is accurate, the bug will be stunned. Note: Rare Bugs might require multiple hits.
6. Collect the Bug: Once the insect is incapacitated, press the F key to collect it.
7. Access Your Prize: View the captured Bug in your in-game Inventory.
8. Target Multiple Bugs: You have the ability to target multiple insects simultaneously using Smoke Bombs.
