Release Date

The Asus Xbox Ally X is officially scheduled to launch during the 2025 holiday season, which generally spans from November to December. Microsoft and Asus confirmed its release window at both the Summer Game Fest and Xbox Games Showcase events, naming Holiday 2025 as the target launch period.

Price

Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed the pricing for either of the new Xbox handhelds, but we can make some reasonable predictions based on past models and current competitors. The standard ROG Xbox Ally is expected to fall between $499 and $599, which makes sense considering its more modest specs. For comparison, the original ROG Ally with the Ryzen Z1 chip launched at $599.99 in June 2023.

The high-end ROG Xbox Ally X is expected to be priced closer to $799, aligning with the July 2024 launch price of the previous ROG Ally X model and competing devices like the Zotac Zone, which is also priced at $799. These price points would also allow Asus and Microsoft to stay competitive against other popular handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED 512GB ($549) and the Nintendo Switch 2 ($449.99).
