How to Unlock Everything in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

Last Updated on 30 October, 2026

Dracula’s castle hides far more than the bosses standing between Rose Belmont and her final target. Reaching 100% in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse requires a thorough search of Paris and the castle, a full weapon collection, dozens of clues and heart fragments, every Mirror of Life, and a complete set of Arcana blessings. Three different endings and a four-hour speedrun add further challenges.

This guide brings those tasks together in one place. Follow the achievement roadmap, use the regional checklists to track collectibles, and complete the ending-specific requirements deliberately.

IMPORTANT: You can use the interactive Belmont’s Curse map to help identify rooms and objects you have missed.

Before You Start

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is an exploration-driven 2D action adventure starring Rose Belmont. The game takes place in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Its seven weapon families and 16 Arcana cards support several different approaches to combat, but exploration is just as important for completionists.

Steam lists 29 achievements. Before starting a completion run, keep these priorities in mind:

  • Leave Custom Mode off. Enabling it can make some achievements unobtainable. Use standard settings for an achievement run, especially the speedrun and ending challenges.
  • Explore thoroughly. The progress meter tracks rooms and other world objectives in addition to collected items. Opening the map and checking unexplored branches is essential to reaching 100%.
  • Mark blocked paths. Some rooms and collectibles require movement abilities or Arcana you acquire later. Use the map markers to remember where to return.
  • Track separate objectives. Reaching 100% on the progress meter does not mean every collection achievement is complete. In particular, the requirements for all weapons and all clues go beyond the respective counts included in the progress tally.

Tip: Keep a checklist for achievements and a separate one for the in-game progress percentage. This prevents you from overlooking extra weapon variants or the final clue after reaching 100% on the System tab.

All 29 Achievements

Use these lists to see which objectives remain. The sections later in this guide provide the detailed routes for the collectibles, endings and special challenges.

Story and Boss Achievements

Achievement Requirement Location or details
Blood Tells Defeat The Fallen. Gate to the Catacombs, Paris Streets.
Flammable or inflammable? Defeat The Warrior. Roof of the Tower, Paris Streets.
Snakes speared in the ruins Defeat The Prophetess. Ossuary of the Innocents, Holy Innocents’ Cemetery.
The King is dead, long live the King Survive The Judge’s verdict. Balance the Scales of Justice in the Palace of Justice, Paris Streets.
Talos Aversion Defeat The Builder. Throne of the Builder, Clock Tower.
Blood for Blood Defeat The Occultist. Observatory, Library.
Death… killed? Defeat The Shadow. Choir, Notre-Dame.
All that glitters is not gold. Defeat The Miser. Mammon’s Lair, Catacombs of Paris.
I am Arthur, King of the Britons Defeat The Brittle King. Chapel, Notre-Dame.
Succubued to her wounds… Defeat The Temptress. Belmont Manor, Hall of Mirrors.
Shadow Work Defeat The Self. Gallery of the Four Virtues, Notre-Dame.
Finish Hector’s work Defeat The Zealot. Heart of the Clock, Clock Tower.
Die monster! You don’t belong in this world! Defeat Dracula. Starts in the Court of the Night in the Master’s Quarters and continues against Dracula’s second form on the Castle Rooftops.

These achievements generally follow story progression. The Judge’s verdict is different: visit the Palace of Justice in Paris Streets and balance the Scales of Justice beside the tree. This awakens Saint Louis, awards The Judge Arcana and Valmanway, and unlocks the achievement.

Jack of All Trades Find at least one weapon from each of the seven weapon families.
Stuff of Legends Find a legendary weapon.

Endings and Special Challenges

Achievement Requirement
Belmont’s fall Complete the game with the bad ending.
The hunt goes on Complete the game with the normal ending.
Curse lifted Complete the game with the true ending.
Perfectionist Hunter Reach 100% completion on the in-game progress meter.
Dialog Skipper Finish the game in less than four hours.
Transylvanian Express Travel a total distance of 19.86 km.
True Belmont Defeat an enemy using The Fallen’s Arcana spell while wielding a whip-family weapon.

Tip: Leave the four-hour run until you know the routes and movement abilities. A full collectible sweep is much slower than a focused story run, so trying to do both at once works against the timer.

All Skins and How to Unlock Them

Rose has seven appearances, including her default outfit, a story reward, a secret code unlock and edition-specific bonuses.

Skin How to unlock it
Rose’s Outfit Available from the start.
Doppelganger Defeat the Doppelganger during the story.
Cursed Obtain the bad ending.
Sonia Style Costume Enter the Konami Code.
Alucard Style Costume Eligible preorder or early-purchase bonus, depending on the copy and offer.
Trevor Style Costume Included in the Midnight Edition.
Sypha Style Costume Included in the Midnight Edition.

Unlock Sonia Belmont’s Costume

The Sonia Style Costume is hidden behind the Konami Code. From the title menu, open Credits and enter the sequence without pressing unrelated buttons between inputs.

Platform Input sequence
Xbox-style controller Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
PlayStation Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Cross, Circle.
Nintendo Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
PC keyboard One tested sequence is W, W, S, S, A, D, A, D, Shift, Space. Another uses the arrow keys followed by B and Enter, depending on the configured controls.

A successful entry returns you to the title menu and displays a costume-unlocked message. You can then select Sonia Style Costume from the Character Skin option in the System menu.

The Alucard Style Costume is a separate eligible early-purchase reward. Trevor and Sypha belong to the Midnight Edition, which also includes the Family’s Grace relic and a digital sound and art gallery. These bonuses cannot be unlocked using the Sonia code.

Tip: If the Sonia code fails, check the final two inputs against your platform and control bindings, then start the sequence again. For edition-exclusive outfits, check the purchase terms attached to your copy instead of searching for an in-game unlock.

All 28 Weapons

There are seven weapon families, each with four weapons across the Ordinary, Refined, Masterpiece and Legendary tiers. Jack of All Trades requires one weapon from every family; Armed to the Fangs requires all 28.

Weapon Family Ordinary Refined Masterpiece Legendary
Whips Whip Thorn Whip Morning Star Vampire Killer
One-Handed Swords Longsword Bastard Sword Joyeuse Valmanway
Two-Handed Swords Burnt Sword of Fierbois Claymore Durandal Excalibur
Dual Blades Pair of Longswords Rapiers Almace and Hauteclaire War and Famine
Spears Lance Halberd Gungnir Chauve-Souris
Fists Cestus Jewel Knuckles Fists of Talos Bernhard’s Wrath
Weapon and Shield Rusted Harpè and Aegis Fleuret and Tower Shield Arondight and Lancelot’s Shield Alucard’s Sword and Shield

For Stuff of Legends, find any Legendary weapon. One available option is the Vampire Killer whip, which Trevor gives Rose in Deacon’s Quarter in Notre-Dame. Continue searching for the other weapons afterward; collecting one Legendary armament is not enough for Armed to the Fangs.

Find War and Famine

The Legendary dual blades War and Famine are hidden behind the Notre-Dame organ puzzle. The puzzle also completes a Work of Mercy associated with The Shadow, making it useful for both weapon collection and Arcana progression.

  1. Find the clue about the corrupted Notre-Dame organ pipes and enter the Great Organ Room through the Notre-Dame Undercrypt.
  2. Use the melody sheets found for the three pipes. Read the clue entries from the Tarot menu and step on the matching zodiac plates in the indicated order to cleanse each pipe.
  3. After defeating Death, visit the Stained Glass Gallery. The lit candles beneath the zodiac windows indicate the order of the symbols for the final sequence.
  4. Return to the Great Organ Room and step on the plates in this order: Gemini, Scorpio, Aquarius, Virgo, Sagittarius, Aries.
  5. When the puzzle completes, take the stairs to the left and read the plaque to open the trapdoor. Drop into the hidden crypt and open the container holding War and Famine.
Melody sheet Pipe Plate sequence
Fugue Bass clef Sun, Pisces, Gemini, Moon, Capricorn.
Concerto Treble clef Taurus, Cancer, Sun, Leo, Gemini.
Sonata C-clef Aries, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Scorpio.

You can begin working on the puzzle after defeating Talos, but the final sequence requires Death to be defeated first.

Tip: Keep checking your Armoury by weapon family. This is more reliable than assuming that owning a Legendary weapon means you are close to collecting all 28. For the organ puzzle, distinguish the three pipe melodies from the separate six-symbol sequence that opens the final crypt.

All Health and Mana Fragments

Collect 24 Brave Heart Fragments to complete the health upgrades and 24 Wise Heart Fragments for mana. Each set is spread across eight regions, with three fragments of each type in every region listed below. Four fragments of the same type complete one upgrade, giving you six health upgrades and six mana upgrades in total.

Region Brave Heart Fragments (Health) Wise Heart Fragments (Mana)
Paris Streets Court of Justice; Prison Tower; Undercity. Guard Storehouse; Street of the Tomb Masons; Torture Level.
Holy Innocents’ Cemetery Ancient Sewers; Mausoleum of the Kings; Serpents’ Lair. Cloister; Mausoleum of the Kings; Roman Baths.
Catacombs of Paris Blood Pits; Catacomb Entrance; Circle of Greed. Chamber of Whispers; Hall of the Fallen Angels; Throat of Hell.
Main Hall Armoury; Balcony; Mirror Rooms. Balcony; Entrance Corridor; Wine Cellar.
Notre-Dame La Flèche; The Forest; Tree of Saints. Apse; Chapel of Patience; Tree of Saints.
Library Library Foyer; Planetarium; Poetry Shelves. Fine Arts Shelves; Planetarium; Rhetoric Shelves.
Hall of Mirrors Looping Hallways; Nightmare Atrium; Steps of Misdirection. Ballroom of Terror; Boudoir of Bewilderment; Chamber of Secrecy.
Clock Tower Eastern Steps; Serpent Pinion; The Gauntlet. Central Fuel Reservoir; Upper Gallery; West Tower Base.

Two locations deserve special attention. In Poetry Shelves in the Library, the Brave Heart Fragment sits on an altar beyond a spike gauntlet. The Library Foyer’s Brave Heart Fragment is hidden in an upper passage behind thorny growth that you can break by attacking it.

Tip: Check the Equipment screen to see which health and mana upgrades remain incomplete. If you are missing one fragment, revisit the listed rooms.

All 40 Clues

Clues come from objects and discoveries scattered throughout the game, including notes, paintings, statues and other environmental details. Finding them unlocks The Greatest Detective. 38 Kneeling is the Way Looping Hallways, Hall of Mirrors.
39 A Sketch from Talos Builder’s Bureau, Clock Tower.
40 The Reflection Deceives Steps of Misdirection, Hall of Mirrors.

The final clue is easy to overlook because the Hall of Mirrors contains several deceptive routes and hidden passages. If your clue collection stops at 39, search the Looping Hallways for Kneeling is the Way.

Tip: Check the Tarot menu regularly. Clues are filed under their Arcana, making it easier to see which entries remain missing and return to the relevant region.

All 34 Mirrors of Life

Mirrors of Life act as save points, restore health and refill potions. Activate all 34 to earn Narcissus.

Region Count Mirror locations
Paris Streets 5 Burned District; Central Sewer Drain; Gate to the Stone Bridge; Prison Tower; Undercity.
Holy Innocents’ Cemetery 4 Ancient Sewers; Cloister; Overgrown Crypt; Pauper’s Grave.
Catacombs of Paris 2 Quarry Elevator; Realm of Old Night.

Tip: Activate every Mirror of Life you find. Mirrors make the eventual sweep for missed rooms, clues and other collectibles much less punishing.

Arcana, Works of Mercy and Blessings

Arcana provide Rose with spells, and their Works of Mercy are challenges that earn Blessings. Spend those Blessings on Gifts to improve the matching spell. The Pick a card, any card achievement requires all 42 Gifts from the 15 collectible Arcana. The Cursed is the starting card and does not count toward those 42 Gifts.

Some Works of Mercy count only while the associated Arcana is equipped. When attempting a spell-specific or combat challenge, equip that card before beginning and check its counter in the menu. The requirements below cover the recorded tasks for each Arcana; the game’s own menu should be used to track individual progress.

Requirements:

Arcana Recorded Works of Mercy
The Cursed Hit enemies with Cursed Flame 20 times. A further Work of Mercy is hidden as “???” in the menu.
The Self Kill four enemies with one cast, five times; explore 85% of the map; heal to full health with the spell ten times.
The Fallen Find three different whip-type weapons; kill five enemies with the same cross; kill ten enemies with a whip attack.
The Warrior Parry 15 attacks with Holy Light; reach the sacred place in Notre-Dame so Joan can pray; set five enemies on fire at once.
The Prophetess Petrify a shielded enemy; kill 25 enemies with fall damage immediately after petrifying them in mid-air.
The Builder Kill three enemies with one fist; kill ten airborne enemies with a falling fist; kill 15 enemies with Smash.
The Artist Kill 30 enemies with Gargoyle Dive; make five enemies fall to their deaths with the Gargoyle Summoning Stone; find every secret zone in the Main Hall.
The Occultist Kill 25 enemies with bleed damage; find two different dual-blade weapons; make an enemy bleed continuously for ten seconds.
The Shadow Complete the hidden puzzle in Notre-Dame; kill 44 skeletons; kill four enemies with one cast of Soul Harvest.
The Miser Keep the wheel spinning for 15 seconds without interruption; kill five different enemies with one wheel; spend 1,000 mana on spell recasts.
The Whisperer Kill 25 enemies by shattering them out of a freeze; pass through five enemies within three seconds.
The Zealot Kill 20 enemies in slow motion; explore every room of the Clock Tower.
The Temptress Drain an enemy for five seconds straight; explore every room of the Hall of Mirrors; kill 25 enemies with Life Drain.
The Brittle King Absorb an otherwise fatal hit with the Stained-Glass Shield; kill 25 Haunted Armors; kill three enemies with a single attack.
The Judge Chain four enemies at once; kill 25 chained enemies; upgrade maximum health and mana five times each.
The Sage Use 34 save rooms; restore 1,000 health with Mirror Walk; dodge enemy attacks with Mirror Walk and kill five enemies within three seconds of those dodges.

How to work through Arcana challenges efficiently

Open the Equipment menu and select the Arcanas tab. Choose a card and review its Works of Mercy before travelling. Some objectives are cumulative, such as killing enemies with a spell, while others require multiple enemies to be hit by a single cast or a status effect to deliver the final blow.

Combine objectives when you can. If you are exploring the Clock Tower, for instance, make progress on The Zealot’s room-exploration task while searching for weapons and other collectibles. At the same time, keep track of any challenge that requires a specific spell to be equipped.

Tip: A Work of Mercy, its Blessing and the resulting Gift are separate steps. After completing a task, open the associated Arcana and spend the available Blessing to unlock its Gift. Only Gifts from the 15 collectible Arcana count toward Pick a card, any card.

How to Unlock All Three Endings

The three ending achievements depend on the Clock Tower Bridge sequence and which spell you carry into Dracula’s final fight. The route to the true ending requires extra work in Notre-Dame, so do not leave those trials until the last moment if you want to finish them in the same progression run.

Achievement Ending Requirement
Belmont’s fall Bad Use the Clock Tower Bridge clock without Soul Harvest equipped.
The hunt goes on Normal Defeat Dracula’s second form without Absolution equipped.
Curse lifted True Defeat Dracula’s second form with Absolution equipped.

Bad ending: Belmont’s fall

When you reach the clock on the Clock Tower Bridge before obtaining or equipping Soul Harvest, use it to trigger Death’s trap. This leads to the bad ending and unlocks Belmont’s fall.

After the credits, choose Resume to continue your save.

Normal ending: The hunt goes on

Reach Dracula’s final fight and defeat his second, winged form on the Castle Rooftops without Absolution equipped. The achievement unlocks with the normal ending. Dracula’s battle begins in the Court of the Night in the Master’s Quarters, then continues into the rooftop phase.

True ending: Curse lifted

The true ending requires The Self Arcana and its Absolution spell. First complete the four Virtue trials and ring the four Bells of Virtue in Notre-Dame. Each bell’s window opens only when you have the matching spell equipped.

Bell of Virtue Spell to equip
Courage Infernal Pyre
Temperance Freezing Path
Justice Chains of Justice
Prudence Mirror Walk

After ringing all four bells, return to the altar at the Gallery of the Four Virtues and defeat the Doppelganger, Rose’s shadow. This unlocks Shadow Work and grants The Self Arcana, which contains Absolution.

Equip Absolution before heading to the Court of the Night. Keep it equipped throughout both phases of Dracula’s fight, then defeat his winged form on the Castle Rooftops. The true ending plays and Curse lifted unlocks.

Tip: Before attempting the true ending, check that all four bells have been rung and that Absolution is equipped. Defeating Dracula without the required Arcana can give you the normal ending instead.

Additional Achievements and Secrets

Always the same roof

Location: Master’s Quarters, Sanctuary of Solitude.

This hidden secret is in the final room before the Dracula fight, just past a Mirror of Life. Use the grapple points and whip rings to climb onto the alcoves above the doors. Continue along the upper balconies, using wall jumps and the Astral Whip to reach the concealed space at the top of the room.

Entering the hidden area unlocks Always the same roof. A chest inside contains the Gloomstone relic.

Lamplighter

Destroy 666 candles. Candle destruction accumulates over your save, so strike them as you explore rather than hunting for all 666 at the end. Candles are common throughout Paris and the castle, making this an achievement that often progresses naturally during a thorough run.

Transylvanian Express

Travel 19.86 km in total. The distance accumulates during normal exploration, so keep moving through new rooms and revisiting routes as needed. There is no need to take a dedicated detour solely for the distance unless the achievement is still locked after the story.

True Belmont

Equip a whip-family weapon and use The Fallen’s Holy Cross spell on the same enemy. Because the exact required finishing hit is not fully clear, keep attacking that target with both the whip and Holy Cross until it dies. The key is to have the spell and a whip-family weapon equipped during the kill.

Dialog Skipper

Finish the game in less than four hours. Check the play time on the System tab of the pause menu and plan this as a separate run. Learn the main routes, avoid optional detours, skip dialogue where possible, and leave collectibles for another playthrough or cleanup.

Keep Custom Mode disabled for the run because it can block some achievements. The requirement is based on the time shown in the game, so avoid unnecessary backtracking and focus on reaching and defeating Dracula’s second form before the four-hour limit.

Tip: Complete your main exploration and collection run first, then use a focused speedrun for Dialog Skipper. For True Belmont, combine the whip and Holy Cross on the same enemy if you are unsure which attack must deliver the final blow.

Final 100% Completion Checklist

Perfectionist Hunter unlocks when the Progress meter reaches 100%. You can check it under your play time on the System tab in the pause menu, and each region also has its own percentage on the map.

The meter counts more than pickups. Exploration accounts for a large share of completion, alongside objects and progression milestones. Make sure you account for:

  1. Every room revealed across Paris and Dracula’s castle.
  2. All experience statues and breakable progression objects that contribute to the area total.
  3. Every tracked item, including relics, weapons and clues counted by the Progress meter.
  4. All 24 Brave Heart and 24 Wise Heart Fragments.
  5. All permanent ATK UP and DEF UP books.
  6. All area exits, background doors and Arcana absorption milestones.
  7. The required story steps, Ferryman’s Wharf visits and four Virtue trials.

Do not assume that a full progress meter means you have earned every collection achievement. The completion tally tracks fewer weapon and clue entries than the full requirements for Armed to the Fangs and The Greatest Detective. Check those collections independently.

If your percentage stalls below 100%, open the map and inspect each region for unexplored rooms. Return to blocked paths after acquiring new movement abilities and check optional branches rather than focusing only on visible chests. Mirrors of Life, candle destruction, and enemy kills do not independently add to the progress percentage, although Mirrors and candles have their own achievements.

Tip: If progress stops at 99%, compare the percentage for each region rather than searching randomly. Prioritize unexplored rooms, missing stat books, statues, background doors, exits and objectives that require later movement abilities.
