Sailing Era Unlock Characters Guide – Asia

These are all the characters you can unlock in Asia:

Abdullah: Complete the game as Muscat to unlock him
Garaba: Picked up in a stowaway event seemingly somewhere in Southeast Asia
Hiyar O’Worley: Pick up in random port
Katelyn: (Requires Sassi Palmis) find the Pirate Queen’s Fleet in the Red Sea and defeat it, then find the five treasures, and finally find her just north of Toamasina.
Lu Liyuan: Random event in a random port first, then travel to Istanbul for another event, and find him in the Western Turkey expedition
Nasser: After the Garaba event in Malacca complete the Rose banner questline
Sassi Palmis: Complete the Holi questline in Calicut and attend the festival
Shen Shi: Random event in the oceans around China
Takigawa Amagai: Find him Nagasaki tavern, learn about Moro-haku sake and Rescue him from pirates.
Yoshitaka Shizuma: Nagasaki after beating the game as them
Yun Mu: Buy Moon Port Book of Facts, beat the game as her and find er in Zhangzhou

These are all the characters you can unlock in Africa:

Beluget: Learn about the Minos fleet in west Africa, find and defeat the fleet (attack them), and find him in Cape Verde.

These are all the characters you can unlock in Europe:

Anastasia: Complete an event in the Western Turkey expedition landing and recruit her in Beirut.
Andreas Heinrich: Complete the Pisa Event and then the Naples expedition event
Andrew: Beat the game as Andrew, recruit him at the Lisbon pier.
Beatrice: Go to Amsterdam in November and complete the Tulip quest line
Carlos Cortez: In Seville after recruiting Blackbeard
Costello Hermann: Complete Monica questline (the Seville Barmaid)
Daniel Crete: After the Trieste event travel between Venice and Trieste until you unlock him
Dietlind: Complete merchant’s quest in Benghazi > meet her in the tavern at Hamburg > Find the deed to a ship from Lübeck and order a ship at the shipyard. She will join after a pirate encounter outside the port
Esmeralda: Meet her in Marseilles and then Palma (Requires Daniel)
Henry: Recruit Blackbeard and find him in London
Joyce de Fritz: Recruit in Amsterdam
Loris Falaise: Purchase Loris Falaise’s songbook in London item shop and go to the London tavern
Maltim Almeida Blanca: Talk to him in Genoa’s tavern and discover Ras ben Sakka
Mustafa Amir: Complete an event in the Western Turkey expedition landing and recruit him in Beirut.
William Ansel: (Requires London contribution = 100) Meet him in London and take him to Ceuta
Yuskin: After recruiting Beatrice, go to Venice.
