Spelunky Unlock Characters Guide – How to unlock the 16 hidden characters of the game (Coffin locations and Ending rewards)

Spelunky Unlock Characters – Starter Characters

You don’t need to unlock these characters, because they are already unlocked:

• Spelunky Guy: Starter character, not one of the 16 unlockables
• Liz Mutton: Starter character, not one of the 16 unlockables
• Colin Northward: Starter character, not one of the 16 unlockables
• Alto Singh: Starter character, not one of the 16 unlockables

Now lets start with the unlockables, if you unlock them all you will earn the Achievement The Entire Gang

Spelunky Unlock Characters – Coffin Drop

To unlock these characters you need to open certain coffins in certain locations:

4 Areas Coffins

• Tina Flan: Random coffin in 4 areas (1 character per area)
• Lime: Random coffin in 4 areas (1 character per area)
• Margaret tunnel: Random coffin in 4 areas (1 character per area)
• Cyan: Random coffin in 4 areas (1 character per area)

Coffin Location

• Van Helsing: Open a coffin at the top of the Hanted Castle Level
• Meat Boy: Open a dark green pod near the end of the Worm
• The Eskimo: Open a coffin in the Yeti Kingdom Level
• The Round Girl: Open a Coffin in a Spider’s Lair Level
• Ninja: Open a coffin in Olmec’s Chamber
• The Round Boy: Open a coffin in a Tiki Village in the Jungle
• Cyclops: You can buy him in the black market ($10k), you can kidnap him, or you can also find him in a coffin after seein him in the Black Market
• Viking: Open a coffin in the flooded cavern of the Dead Are Restless level
• The robot: Open a capsule in the Mothership
• Golden Monk: Open a coffin in th City of Gold

Spelunky Unlock Characters – Boss Drops

To unlock these characters you need to beat certain bosses

• Jungle Warrior: Defeat Olmec and get to the Exit
• Yang: Defeat King Yama and get to the exit
