Hunter Training OSRS – Easiest Method

Levels 1–9: Natural History Quiz

Completing the Natural History Quiz in Varrock Museum grants the player 1,000 experience, and you will reach level 9

Levels 9–44/80/99: Bird house trapping

A bird house run is done by setting up bird house traps on Fossil Island (requires Bone Voyage) and filling them with suitable seeds. After 50 minutes, the player dismantles the traps for Hunter experience and loot, and sets them up again for the next run

Experience for a single (full) birdhouse birdhouse:

• Regular birdhouse: Level 5 crafting > 15 XP | Level 5 Hunter > 280 Xp
• Oak birdhouse: Level 15 crafting > 20 XP | Level 14 Hunter > 420 Xp
• Willow birdhouse: Level 25 crafting > 25 XP | Level 24 Hunter > 560 Xp
• Teak birdhouse: Level 35 crafting > 30 XP | Level 34 Hunter > 700 Xp
• Maple birdhouse: Level 45 crafting > 35 XP | Level 44 Hunter > 820 Xp
• Mahogany birdhouse: Level 50 crafting > 40 XP | Level 49 Hunter > 960 Xp
• Yew birdhouse: Level 60 crafting > 45 XP | Level 59 Hunter > 1.020 Xp
• Magic birdhouse: Level 75 crafting > 50 XP | Level 74 Hunter > 1.140 Xp
• Redwood birdhouse: Level 90 crafting > 55 XP | Level 89 Hunter > 1.200 Xp

Levels 44–99: Drift net fishing

Most efficient way to train both Fishing and Hunter at the same time. Drift net fishing is done in the underwater of Fossil Island (requires Bone Voyage)

For swimming underwater for extended periods of time, the player will need to wear a fishbowl helmet and the diving apparatus, which can be obtained from the Pirate Pete subquest of Recipe for Disaster. For swimming faster, the player will also need to wear flippers, which can only be obtained from killing mogres. For optimal experience rates, a merfolk trident or (uncharged) trident of the seas is used to chase fish shoal into drift nets. Stamina potions are also needed

Levels 1–9: Natural History Quiz

Levels 7–15: Feldip weasels

In the Feldip Hunter area south of Yanille, which can be reached by using the fairy ring aks and running south-west, using a Feldip hills teleport scroll, or using a ring of dueling teleport to Castle Wars and running south

Levels 15–29: Ruby harvests + copper longtails

In the Piscatoris Hunter area, just south of the fairy ring akq. Players can alternatively get there by using a Piscatoris teleport and running south-west. Bring two bird snares, a butterfly net, some butterfly jars, and a stamina potion

Levels 29–43: Swamp lizards

Southeast of Canifis in the Canifis Hunter area, or just north-west of Slepe. Trapping lizards requires a rope and small fishing net for each trap

Levels 43–60: Falconry

In the Piscatoris falconry area east of the fairy ring akq, rent a gyr falcon for 500 coins

Levels 60–67: Red salamanders

South of the entrance to the Ourania Cave, and can be reached with the Ourania Teleport from the Lunar spellbook (71 Magic) or by teleporting to Castle Wars and running north

Levels 67–73: Black salamanders

In the Boneyard Hunter area in the Wilderness. The fastest way to get there is to teleport to the Chaos Temple with a burning amulet and run north-east, or use a games necklace and teleport to the Corporeal Beast lair

Levels 73–99: Black chinchompas

Requires completion of the Eagles’ Peak quest

Use a Wilderness Obelisk from the player-owned house or east of Corporeal Beast’s cave to level 35 Wilderness and running a bit south-east (completion of hard tasks in the Wilderness Diary is strongly recommended)

Hunter Training OSRS – Required Items

• Noose wand to track kebbits for levels 1-15.
• Bird snares if opting to catch birds for levels 1-29.
• Butterfly net & 5-20+ butterfly jars to net butterflies for levels 15-33.
• Axe and knife to deadfall trap kebbits for levels 33-47.
• Small fishing net and rope to net trap swamp lizards or salamanders, starting at level 29 or 47 respectively.
• Box trap for chinchompas, starting at level 53.

Hunter Training OSRS – Recommended Quests

• Bone Voyage for access to Fossil Island, which is required for bird house trapping and drift net fishing.
• Starting Fairytale II – Cure a Queen for access to the fairy rings.
• Eagle’s Peak is required for catching any chinchompas.
  • If planning to catch black chinchompas, completion of the hard Wilderness Diary is recommended for a fast access to the hunting area.
  • If planning to catch carnivorous chinchompas, completion of Song of the Elves or the hard Western Provinces Diary is strongly recommended.
