Mario Kart World is finally out, but you’ll need a Switch 2 to play it. Nintendo also released a day one update to make the game even better.
The new update, Version 1.1.0, turns on online play and camera support — something fans were expecting. Before this update, even if you had a Switch 2, you couldn’t go online with it.
Nintendo also made a few changes to the game itself. One of the biggest is that now you can choose from more characters right away. Before, it looked like Nintendo wanted players to unlock more racers as they played. But now, the update changes that.
“We’ve increased the number of characters that can be selected from the start,” says the official patch notes.
Another small change is that the timer for picking a course in local multiplayer has been removed. So now, you can choose a track with friends easily.
One thing this update doesn’t include is the 200cc mode. Just like with Mario Kart 8, it seems Nintendo might add that later on.
