Last Updated on 15 October, 2026

Narrow One is a first-person, bow-and-arrow take on capture the flag, and its official site sums the game up as medieval-style flag capture in a fast, three-dimensional multiplayer shooter. The site loads in the browser and asks players to keep JavaScript enabled.

How a match works

Matches are 5v5. According to the Steam listing as summarized by RAWG, each team pushes into enemy territory and steals the flag, and the player carrying it becomes the main target for the other side.

The aim of the game is capturing the enemy flag and returning it to base while defending your own. The Steam listing adds weekly game modes and plays either solo or in a squad with friends.

Tip: The listing’s own advice is to coordinate flag captures with teammates, a sensible habit when the carrier becomes the primary target.

Controls on desktop and touch screens

On desktop, WASD moves the character and the mouse aims and looks around. Shooting works by holding the left mouse button to draw the bow and releasing it to fire. On touch screens, on-screen indicators handle movement, a tap and hold draws the bow and a touch and drag aims.

The Steam listing also names controller, touchscreen and gamepad support. Arrows drop over distance, so shots at moving targets have to be aimed ahead of them.

Tip: Drawing the bow is part of every shot, since the bow is held to draw and released to fire.

The six classes

Narrow One has six classes, each with a team role, according to the Steam listing. Two are named as examples: the Runner, built for fast flag captures, and the Support, which covers teammates from range.

The listing names no further classes, which leaves the remaining four to be found in the game itself.

Tip: A squad can split the two named jobs, fast captures and ranged cover, between different players.

Narrow One on browser and other multiplayer games

Narrow One is also available on browser and is on web gaming site Poki’s list of multiplayer games, which counts more than 150 titles. The rest of the list covers other formats, from private rooms shared by code or link, such as Smash Karts, to matchmaking games such as Combat Online 2, so a group can try several before settling on a favorite. Friends on desktop, mobile and tablet can join the same match.

Bows, melee weapons and the coin shop

The Steam listing counts six bows with customizable skins, more than 50 melee weapons and several arrow variants. Coins are earned by playing rounds and spent in the shop, which sells:

  • Outfits
  • Weapons
  • Bow skins
  • Arrows
  • Tattoos

The listing also mentions seasonal content and regular new content.

Maps and weather

The game ships with 17 or more maps, with themes that include Samurai castles, desert oases, Viking forts and Greek sky temples. Alternate versions of the maps change the routes between the two bases, and the weather changes every round.

The third-party listing describes castle arenas with several levels, defensive positions, vantage points and narrow passages.

Tips for new players

The third-party listing offers five tips:

  • Use elevated positions
  • Coordinate flag captures
  • Use walls for cover
  • Practice leading shots
  • Communicate with teammates
