Understanding Eidolons in Honkai Star Rail
In the world of Genshin Impact, players are familiar with the concept of Constellations.
In Honkai Star Rail, Eidolons serve a similar purpose, albeit under a different name. Essentially, Eidolons are power-ups awarded to players when they acquire multiple copies of a single character. Instead of receiving duplicate characters to use in the game, players earn an Eidolon specific to that character.
For example, if you obtain two copies of Dan Heng, you will receive two Dan Heng Eidolons. Each Eidolon unlocks a new power-up for the associated character, with a maximum of six unique Eidolons available per character. While not mandatory, certain Eidolons can greatly enhance a character’s abilities.
To view a character’s Eidolons, such as Dan Heng’s, navigate to their character page and select the “Eidolons” button. This will display each available Eidolon for the character.
By clicking on individual Eidolons, you can view the specific effects they grant the character. It is important to note that Eidolons must be earned sequentially—you cannot use an Eidolon to unlock Eidolon 6 without obtaining the preceding Eidolons.
Typically, the more Eidolons a character has, the more powerful they become. Unlocked Eidolons are displayed as video to indicate their availability.

The main character is an exception to the general Eidolon rules. As this character cannot be obtained through Warp banners, players must acquire an item called the “Shadow of Destruction” to unlock their Eidolons.
